Field Manager Required for Horticulture Company Aujla Contractors LimitedWe are looking for a qualified Field Manager for the Western Bay of Plenty part of our horticulturalcompany. This is a full time permanent position and will consist of handling the full operations of theWestern Bay of Plenty area of our horticulture business.To be considered for this position you’ll have at least a qualification in Business studies at Diploma or higher. You should have excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) and be able to work independently to reach goals.You must be able to multitask and will be able to complete work in set time frames. You will also ideally have knowledge in the operations of a Horticulture company and at least 2 years of relevant experience.You will be also expected to perform management tasks such as:Report to the company’s director any incidents or information relating to the running of the business including but not limited to staff complaints, staff misconduct and timely health and safety updates.• Creating and presenting reports during staff meetings and when asked by the director of the company.• Consistently checking employment costs in relation to productivity• Determine how many employees are needed for each particular orchard to achieve optimal production• Assisting in the interviewing of suitable potential employees to determine whether they would be suitable to be employed for certain positions• Representing employee concerns to other managers or higher authorities• Training new employees as allocated• Supervise new and junior staff• Instruct employees on their place of employment and the tasks to be completed for the week and give them directions to the applicable orchard• Monitor staff performance on site• Review staff performance and make notes about which staff to hire in the next season for optimal production• Talk to staff to resolve issues and if necessary provide details to other concerned management so that verbal and/or written warnings can be given.• Convey the employee’s opinions or feelings (satisfaction or dissatisfaction with work) to higher managers• Visit orchards and communicate with owners to ensure that work of the highest quality is performed on a daily basis• Determine if techniques or methods of work need to be changed and plan and implement these changesKey Attributes: •The desire to grow your knowledge and skills in the management field and in horticulture•A strong business oriented focus•The ability to adapt, be flexible and learn quickly•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills•Enthusiastic about customer service excellence and the contribution you can make to the business•The ability to work independently and without supervision•Knowledge and work experience in horticulture industry is also essential for this role and at least 2years of minimum experience is required.•You will need to be flexible and good at negotiations.•Ability to use a computer and basic programs like Microsoft word and excel is also beneficial.This is a full time Permanent position and successful applicant will be required to manage thebusiness as well as its staff and other third parties.Applicant may be required on weekends, public holidays or after hours to perform some tasks. Drug test may be conducted prior to start job.Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
