The University of Auckland operates a range of wellbeing services for students, such as Counselling and Health Services and Sport and Recreation, which are aimed at creating a healthy campus community and reducing personal barriers to academic success. It also operates engagement services such as support for student organisations, social and sporting events, volunteering and leadership support aimed at helping students to maximise their university experience.The Student Wellbeing programme aims to help students achieve their full potential with a focus on improving mental health and wellbeing outcomes for students. The programme has a strong focus on mental health and wellbeing and strives for a preventative and educational wellbeing approach. The programme is in a growth phase and the role of Student Wellbeing Coordinator has been established to support the development, delivery and co-ordination of the programme. The role will work across all University faculties and service divisions to build on the successful Wellbeing initiatives in place as well as support organisational growth to promote student Health and Wellbeing.To achieve results in this position you will:Have a passion for working with students and have knowledge and understanding of mental health challenges for studentsBe extremely well organised and be able to coordinate multiple activities at onceHave excellent high level administration and executive officer skills to produce papers and evaluation material for high level meetingsHave outstanding project management skills to coordinate multiple projects including project budgetsKnowledge of health promotion concepts and the application of these to a student audience would be advantageousAs a result of your efforts, students will be better able to access information, tools and support to help manage their own health and wellbeing, whilst faculty and front line staff will be better equipped to support students maintain a healthy lifestyle, build resilience and flourish in the University environment.Ideally we are looking for someone with experience in the Student Services area with a strong organisational and administrative background. A degree that supports these skills, and a background in health promotion would be beneficial. You'll also be a strong relationship builder, an effective communicator to multiple audiences and adept at planning and project management.
